Olympia -- The public is invited to attend the building dedication and open house for the new
TVW – Jeannette C. Hayner Media Center on January 6, 2006. The official ribbon cutting
will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning followed by an open house with activities for
families. All events are free and open to the public at the new facility – 1058 Capitol Way
South, Olympia, WA 98501.

“We are pleased to be partnering with our neighbors, the Hands-On Children’s Museum, to
plan activities for the whole family.” Says Caryl Zenker, TVW’s vice president for marketing
and development. Activities including workshops on animation, television production and
government access programming will show off TVW’s new facility.

TVW is the Washington State Public Affairs Network providing coverage of the state
legislature, Supreme Court and executive branch boards and commissions to over 98% of the
cabled households in Washington. Programming also includes public policy events and
specialty programs such as Inside Olympia and Legislative Review which offer viewers access
to the rich cultural life of the state. Its new 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art fully digital
television production studio, named in honor of TVW founding chair and Washington’s first
female majority leader Jeannette C. Hayner, was funded through a public / private partnership.
Private fundraising continues with $400,000 left to raise of the $6.5-million campaign.
